Plans to build a water bottling plant in Minocqua were unveiled Tuesday at the Minocqua Planning Commission meeting.
Partners Ed Rynders and Trvge (Trig) Solberg want to build the plant and warehouse on property along Highway 70 on Minocqua’s west side.
Developer Robert Rynders said they hope to start construction of the 24,000-square-foot facility this fall with bottling operations beginning by March of 2016. The building will cost about $700,000 with at least $1 million in equipment. They will also produce the bottles on-site using a blow molding process.
Bulk water for the privately labeled bottles will be trucked in from a well in the township of Presque Isle; however it is not a high capacity pumping well.
According to Robert Rynders, the plant operations will be largely automated. There will be no discharged emissions or outside noise, They will start with one shift, employing five or six workers. He expects they will have one tanker hauling 5,000 gallons of water per shift.
The planning commission voted unanimously to recommend the county issue a conditional use permit.
