Eagle River Trig’s Round Up Program to support Feed Our Rural Kids in November

Your next trip to the grocery store could help feed children in your community.

Feed Our Rural Kids is the charity for this month’s Trig’s Round Up program in Eagle River.

If you round up your total at the checkout, the change will go to FORK.

This is the second year FORK has been chosen for the roundup program.

“Last year, we raised, I believe it was $8,000 through this method which made it one of our largest fundraisers for sure. We look forward to people participating again,” said Perry Pokrandt, FORK President.

Last year, the money raised went to the various programs FORK runs to help ensure children in Vilas County don’t go hungry.

“This year, all of the donations are going to our new children’s pantry program which are located in Land O’Lakes, Eagle River, St. Germain Elementary, as well as the Phelps School District," said Pokrandt.

The children’s pantries are an emergency food source for children and families for when they can’t get to a food bank.

The round up program runs through the end of November.

Katie Thoresen is WXPR's News Director/Vice President.
