Juergens To Be Sentenced Next Month

Oneida County Sheriff's Department

The former Rhinelander high school English teacher will enter a plea next month to several charges related to an alleged theft, drug possession and growing marijuana.

Joshua Juergens' attorney Maggie Hogan and District Attorney Michael Schiek said at a hearing in Rhinelander Thursday that Juergens will enter a plea December 5 and be available for sentencing.

The 35 year old Juergens was arrested after a search warrant was issued November 6. A piece of computer equipment was alleged to have been taken from Rhinelander high school in September. While searching Juergens residence in the town of Pine Lake, 66 marijuana plants were found along with prescription drugs and paraphernalia.

He was charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft, felony counts of marijuana manufacturing and other drug possession.

Monday night, the Rhinelander school board fired Juergens after its own investigation.
