A motorcyclist from Bowler Wisconsin died after hitting a bear this weekend.
50-year-old Gary Stevens was riding his motorcycle on Highway 64 near Hill Road, about 7 miles east of Antigo when he apparently struck a bear.
The Langlade County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday reporting the incident.
Stevens was transported to Langlade Hospital by ambulance, then flown to Aspirus hospital in Wausau for medical treatment.
Later that day he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
