A new sign will welcome visitors to Mincoqua's newest park--the Minocqua Park Complex on Highway 70 west. The 27-acrea park is already attracting large crowds to the farmers markets and sports contests.
The Minocqua town board Tuesday approved the plan commmission's recommendation to spend $9,600 for a roughly eight by four cedar wood sign. The sign will accommodate an electronic message board in the future with the town's logo.
On another sign related issue, Town Chair Mark Hartzheim wants the board to approve signage to direct shoppers to side-street businesses on the island of Minocqua. He showed a three by four sized sign that could be attached to buildings or on poles.
The town chair and public works director will bring the proposal back to the town board for review.
