The report on the accident of June 12th that resulted in the death of Mark Jastrow, 56 of Eagle River has been completed by the Vilas County Sheriff's department.
Jastrow was hit by a truck driven by Timothy Radue, 47, of Valders, Wisconsin on Shangrila Road in the town of Washington. According to the report, Radue was driving east when his F-250 truck encountered Jastrow on a curve.
Radue stated to authorities he was traveling about 25 miles per hour. Sheriff Joe Fath indicated a state accident reconstruction team was asked to investigate the scene and they believe his speed was as he claimed. Radue indicated he had no alcohol and voluntarily submitted to a blood sample. He said he didn't see the pedestrian standing in the road.
The report indicates Jastrow was in the roadway blowing leaves and grass debris off the road at the time he was struck. He was operating a leaf blower and was wearing ear plugs.
Radue has a clean driving record except for a citation for failing to wear a seat belt in November, 2015, issued by the Sheboygan County Sheriff's department.
