The name of the person killed in a collision Wednesday west of Rhinelander has been released.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Department reports 45 year old Daniel Erickson of Merrill died in the crash.
Deputies report Erickson's vehicle was eastbound and struck a west bound semi truck near Detienne road in in the town of Crescent shortly after 1:30 p.m. Erickson was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
U.S. Highway 8 was closed until nearly 10 p.m. Wednesday night.
