Northland Pines district administrator Mike Richie announced Monday he would be retiring when his current contract expires. The retirement was accepted with thanks and regret from the school board.
Richie has been administrator for the last 15 years and indicated his current two year contract will end June 30, 2019 which will be his last official day.
Richie thanked both present and past school boards for supporting him saying it was great to work in such a supportive school district and a community that highly values education.
Under his leadership, Northland Pines passed four operational referendums, built a $28 million high school, created three innovative charter schools, and received four Dept. of Public Instruction Rural School Community Partnership awards.
