(Elcho, WI) -- An attorney is advising the Elcho School Board not to make any changes to the district's dress code. Board members were told they could be sued if they impose limitations on students wearing clothes including the image of a Confederate flag.
Student Samantha DeNamur went to school officials last September saying she felt uncomfortable with another student wearing a Confederate flag sweater. After speaking out, DeNamur said she was bullied and harassed so much she transferred to another school.
No changes to the district's policy have been made.
