A Merrill woman has died and a Rhinelander man was injured in a Friday night crash west of Rhinelander.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reports the crash happened on U.S. 8 at Shady Rest Road east of Heafford Junction about 10:15 p.m.
The automobile went out of control and struck an east bound semi-tractor trailer. The driver of the car, a 52 year old Merrill woman, died. The truck driver had non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 8 was closed for several hours.
Names of the persons involved in the crash will be released later.
