The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the man killed early Wednesday in a traffic crash. The victim has been identifed as 50 year old Timothy W. Rowe of the Town of Merrill.
The Sheriff's Department reports the crash happened in the Town of Corning near Merrill. Shortly after 3:00 a.m., a caller reported the crash on state Highway 64 near Elm Grove Rd. The witness, who was traveling in a separate vehicle, reported Rowe swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over. Deputies have determined that alcohol did not play a role in the crash.

One person has died in a Lincoln county traffic crash.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m., a caller reported the crash on state Highway 64 near Elm Grove Rd.
The witness, who was traveling in a separate vehicle, reported the 50 year-old male victim swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.
Corning firefighters responded to the scene and removed the victim from the vehicle. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies have determined that alcohol did not play a role in the crash. The name of the victim will be released when relatives are all notified.
