Highway 47 Construction Meeting This Week In Woodruff

Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation

The state DOT is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements to WIS 47, from Kildeer road in Oneida County to the Vilas County line. The construction would happen during 2022.

DOT Project Manager Dan Erva outlines the work..

"...We will be resurfacing the pavement on Highway 47. We'll be upgrading the beam guard at locations along there. There are several culvert pipes that need maintenance and repair and we'll also be upgrading all the existing curb ramps in Lake Tomahawk and Woodruff to meet current ADA standards..."

Erva says while preliminary work is still underway, he estimates that the project will take a couple of months to complete. The DOT is hosting the meeting to discuss the purpose and need for the project and to obtain feedback on proposed improvements.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Woodruff Town Hall. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.
