The public is invited to a meeting Thursday about proposed improvements to state Highway 70 in Oneida county.

DOT project manager Jesse Jefferson outlines the work planned for the busy warm weather months of 2021....

"It's a fairly new roadway considering. Really what it needs is a good face lift. What we've identified is curb and gutter than could use some replacing. Some curb ramps for the sidewalks, those could be brought up to modern standards. Just a lot of maintenance-type items, there...”

Jefferson says they would like to familiarize the public with the purpose and need and to get input on the proposed improvements and discuss traffic management during construction. Jefferson says the work would be done from the late spring of 2021 through the summer. The current proposed cost is expected to be between $1 million and $1.5 million.

He outlines the time and place of the meeting...

"This Thursday, February 20 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the Minocqua Center or the Minocqua town hall in downtown Minocqua. It will be held up on the third floor in the Torpy Room which is the council chambers..."

Jefferson says adjacent property and business owners are encouraged to attend.
