Oneida Co. Board Rejects Plan To Lower Number Of Supervisors

Wikipedia Royalbroil

The Oneida County Board will stay the same size.

Supervisor Jim Winkler offered a resolution at the monthly meeting this week to cut the number of supervisory districts from 21 to 15.

In the resolution, Winkler said with the upcoming census, the board should be downsized to be more efficient. The resolution said the board could be shrunk in the 2022 election cycle.

Winkler was the only person to sign the resolution.

When the matter came before the board this week, no one would second the resolution.

When a resolution of this type finds no second, it does not move forward.

The board will remain at 21 seats.
