Oneida County Board chair David Hintz formed a committee to face the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 virus and some county department heads provided a situation update.
Hintz formed Onward Oneida County committee and they had their second meeting Monday.
One report was from Public Health Director Linda Conlon....
"We have 527 tests we have completed, 51 are pending, 469 are negative and we have seven positives. Of the seven positives, six have been released from isolation and one is currently hospitalized..."
Finance Director Darcy Smith said the latest state tax revenue reports were for the period ending in March before the impact of the COVID crisis hit home...
"The State of Wisconsin has estimated that receipts were down about nine percent in the month of March that will will be about a $30,000 impact to our sales tax for that month of collection..."
" The committee also considered a letter to send to the state outlining the county's desires as the state begins to reopen for business. Corporation Counsel Brian Desmond says much of what will happen over the next few days will be determined by a State Supreme Court decision on a challenge to Governor Evers Safer At Home order.
