Wi. National Guard COVID Testing Friday In Merrill

Wisconsin National Guard

The next round of Wisconsin National Guard testing takes place Friday in Merrill.

The Lincoln County Health Department is collaborating with the Wisconsin National Guard to provide free COVID-19 testing.

The drive-through -style nasal swab testing is at the Merrill Festival Grounds on Friday,

August 14, from 11 am -7 pm.  Anyone 5 years and older living and working in Wisconsin is eligible for testing.

The nasal swab test that will be used at this event is said to be more than 99 percent accurate.

The National Guard will be using a system called "Covid Connect" which allows individuals tested to preregister while they wait at the test site. Health officials say it allows for faster testing, as people get their results faster via email. People who can't preregister this way can provide needed information at the testing.

The entrance for the event will be on Memorial Drive, next to National Guard Armory in Merrill.

Health officials say that anyone tested is required to stay home until test results come back.

More information is at the Lincoln Co. Health Department.
