A Northwoods landmark is heading to a new home.
The Wilderness Queen had been running on the Wisconsin River south of Rhinelander for several years.
The boat took riders along the scenic flowage to the Hat Rapids Dam and back. This week the vessel was taken out of the water as it will make it's way to Walworth county.
The boat was purchased by Gregg Kunes, who owns an auto dealership in the Delavan area. Patty Zastrow and her husband, Ben, bought the Wilderness Queen six years ago from Tom and Chris Tiffany, who operated Wisconsin River Cruises on the Willow Flowage from 1991 to 2007.
In 2007 the boat was relocated to it's former location along U.S. 8 west of Rhinelander.
