The Wisconsin DNR is reminding all snowmobilers of a new law requiring everyone to carry a trail pass this year. Previously, the law required all out of state snowmobiles to have an annual trail pass, but Conservation Warden Gary Eddy says the law this year requires all snowmobilers with valid Wisconsin public use registration to buy an annual Wisconsin trail pass.
“…the best place to go is directly to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website and search for keyword “snowmobile trail pass,” and that will direct people on where and where and how they can purchase a trail pass.”
Eddy says the dollars generated from the snowmobile trail passes will be placed in a segregated fund to pay for the development and maintenance of the trails. He says annual passes are $30, or $10 for anyone who is a member of a snowmobile club affiliated with the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs.
