Rhinelander Police Department Gifted With New Squad Car

Miranda Vander Leest

Quality Collision of Rhinelander gifted the Rhinelander Police Department with a new squad car. The police department seized the 2013 Chrysler 300 Easter Sunday when Tyler Schewe of Rhinelander was using the car to transport illegal drugs. Schewe led police on a high speed chase before he struck a telephone pole. Quality Collision donated all labor to repair the vehicle. Police Chief Michael Steffes says the car is prepared for patrol.

“…it’s going to be another vehicle for us to use to be able to take out for presentations, to share with the public and respond to emergency calls.”

Steffes says while the car had significant front end damage, the repair was a minimal cost to the citizens of Rhinelander.  He says the squad car will be his to use.
