Olson Memorial Library Hosts Seed Swap

freestockphotos.biz

The Olson Memorial Library is partnering with the Warehouse Four Seasons Center for the Arts in Eagle River for a Seed Swap March 3. The seed swap is for gardeners to trade vegetable, herb and flower seeds with other gardeners and farmers. Spokesperson Debbie Jircik says they encourage people to bring open pollinated seeds only. She says seeds should be labeled by variety and year.

“…we typically say that there’s plenty to go around because there’s more than people take, so anyone is welcome if they’ve never experienced the seed swap before. One of the really neat things we are doing this year is we are also including a film showing that people can experience.”

Jircik says the seed swap is free and open to the public.

She says there will be a showing of “Seeds of Time,” a film documenting the value of seeds in a new era of climate change.  Screening will start at 6:30pm with the seed swap to follow.

The seed swap is Thursday, March 3 from 6 to 9 pm at the Warehouse Four Seasons Center for the Arts. For more information call 715-479-8070.
