History and entertainment will merge this weekend as Rhinelander kicks off its 3rd Annual Log Jam. The event will be held at Hodag Park on the shores of Boom Lake June 25 and 26.
Chamber of Commerce Director Bill Clow says the two day festival will feature professional lumberjack shows, kid’s activities and live music. But, he says the idea of the family fun event is to show how the logging industry played a major role in developing what many Northwoods residents now call home…
“it’s something that’s a major industry still in the area, but it’s easy to forget how important it was in the early days of Rhinelander and the Northwoods area; how important how logging was to the start of this area; to the settling of this area.”
Pancake breakfasts, beer tents, pie eating contests and fun runs are among the dozens of activities that will be at the event.
The event is free and open to the public, and begins Saturday morning and wraps up Sunday afternoon.
