Langlade County restarts the snowmobile season Thursday, January 2nd, as trails in zones A and B reopen. In a Facebook post, the Antigo Sno-Drifters snowmobile club cautions riders need to be extremely careful. Trails will be rough and there could still be open water in some spots. If you see yellow caution tape on signposts around the trail system, the Sno-Drifters warn to slow down and pay attention. They say a lot of wooded areas and fields have pooled water from the thaw and rain. Grooming will not be taking place for now, so conditions may be rough. Continued packing and riding with snowmobiles will help to firm the trails up again so they freeze, then grooming can resume.
