Eagle River Trig’s Round Up Program to Support FORK in November

The next time you’re shopping at the Trig’s in Eagle River, you can help feed kids in Vilas County.

Trig’s Round Up Program is supporting Feed Our Rural Kids or FORK.

“Frankly, pennies do make a difference, they do add up,” said FORK President Perry Pokrandt.

People shopping at the store can round up their total to next dollar.

That extra change will be donated to FORK.

“They had seen what we were doing in the community. Seen the impacts we were making here locally and wanted to do something and brough up this idea for a program called roundup,” said Pokrandt. “It’s a simple program, but it gives us great exposure, gives FORK great exposure.”

Money raised during the Round Up program will support four different FORK programs all designed to help feed kids in Vilas County.

Pokrandt said the need for food has increased since the start of the pandemic.

“The challenges children were faced with pre-pandemic were pretty stiff, families were up against it, higher cost of living up here, lower wages makes it difficult to raise a family. And the pandemic has caused increases that are somewhat exponential,” said Pokrandt.

The Round Up Program runs through the month of November.
