Running a successful small business is no easy feat.
“We know that having our small business community as vibrant as possible is makes sure that we thrive in the long term,” said Grow North Executive Director Brittany Beyer.
Beyer wants to make to sure small businesses in the Northwoods have every tool possible to help them succeed. That includes the Paycheck Protection Program.
“This is a tool that can help you bridge for the time being and get to the other side,” said Beyer.
There are some major differences when it comes to who qualifies for this next PPP loan and it’s important to get everything right so that the loan is fully forgivable.
“The clarifications arounds forgiveness and making sure those are followed so you do step into forgiveness are really important,” said Beyer.
Business owners can learn more about the qualifications and get any other questions they have about the PPP at some upcoming SBA webinars.
Grow North and UW-Extension are each hosting sessions.
“Small businesses especially, many have not taken advantage of it for a variety of reasons. The thing that extension does is gather and provide information where there’s a community need. So put those two together and I’m very happy to bring this to the people of Oneida County,” said UW-Extension Oneida County Communities Senior Outreach Specialist Myles Alexander.
Beyer and Alexander said it’s a good opportunity to learn about the loans- especially if business owners don’t have a banker to go to with these questions.
“This one hour is a great way to get an idea about it,” said Alexander. “It will begin with an explanation about it from the US Small Business Administration which administers the program and then there will be a panel of three small business people.”
The session hosted by UW-Extension is on Tuesday, February 16 starting at noon. You canregister for it here.
Grow North’s session is Thursday, February 18 starting at 10:00 a.m. You can register for it here.
The SBA is accepting applications for this round of PPP loans now through the end of March.
