Tomahawk District Administrator Resigns, School Board Rescinds Mask Requirement

School District of Tomahawk Facebook

Update 8.30.21 1:50 p.m.: The Tomahawk School Board will seek a candidate outside the school district to fill in as district administrator.

The school board met in closed session Monday in regard to the vacancy created when previous Administrator Terry Reynolds immediately retired on Saturday.

In a statement the school board said, “While the Board has the utmost confidence in all of our outstanding principals, the Board is concerned about the cascading changes and increased workloads that would be necessary as a result of elevating one of our outstanding internal candidates.”

The board plans to find an interim district administrator as soon as possible. It hopes to open up a search for the full time replacement this fall with a goal of selecting a candidate by spring.

Original Post: The School District of Tomahawk’s district administrator has resigned.

The school board accepted Terry Reynolds’ immediate voluntary retirement at Saturday morning’s special meeting.

The school board will meet this morning in a special closed session to talk about a succession plan.

Two days earlier, the school district announced a mask requirement for all students and staff inside district buildings.

The school board voted Saturday morning to revoke that requirement.

The district now recommends masks, but does not require them.
