20 Year Sentence For Child Enticement For Merrill Man

A Merrill man will go to federal prison for 20 years for child enticement.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Eastern Wisconsin announced 60 year old Brian Wickersham was sentenced last week by Judge William Griesbach.  In deciding on a 20 year sentence, the judge noted the horrendous nature of the crime, and Wickersham’s previous pattern of preying on children.  If Wickersham finishes his prison sentence, he’ll be under supervision for the rest of his life after release.

Wickersham was a long haul truck driver, and took the victim with him on a four-day trip from Wisconsin to Virginia and back.  He provided the child with money and gifts and pressured him to engage in sexual acts.  The victim fled the truck when it returned to Wisconsin and got help at a truck stop restaurant in Bellevue in Brown County.  Wickersham was arrested hiding at a nearby hotel.
