The body of a Wisconsin woman was recovered Tuesday morning at the base of Rainbow Falls in Ironwood Township, Michigan.
The Gogebic County Sheriff reports search personnel found the body of 22-year-old Stephanie Narvaez of Watertown. She and 22-year-old Karl Nelson of Milwaukee were hiking above the falls Saturday. Reports indicate Narvaez tried to cross the Black River, slipped into the water and was carried over the falls. Nelson tried to rescue her but could not reach her.
Eight agencies helped out Gogebic County with the search.
