The nine day Wisconsin deer season opened on Saturday and across Wisconsin family and friends gathered at deer camps to pursue one of Wisconsin’s most enduring traditions. In today’s History Afield writer Bob Willging tells us about an early deer hunting lodge that once existed in Vilas County.
