A report to the Eagle River city council on the municipal golf course operations for 2020 showed general manager Tony Sable reporting 26,065 rounds played that he described as “the highest we’ve ever been.”
The course opened on April 24 and closed October 11 with Sable indicting evidently the COVID pandemic had people wanting to just get outside and “we were probably the only game in town, so to speak.”
Total green fees were $444,376 and cart fees of all cart types were $154,517 with the practice range generating $32,568 and merchandise sales of $63,397. Overall sales were $738,099 and after subtracting refunds, rain checks, taxes and other adjustments “total golf operations revenue for 2020 was $695,636.”
The council approved 2021 fees with two changes; classifying players as either adults or junior and approving the season pass for green fees at $825 down from $850.
