A food box distribution happens Friday in St. Germain.
The distribution runs from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the St. Germain Town Park pavilion.
Vilas County Director of Emergency Management Sherri Congleton says they received the offer of 1,200 boxes of food on Monday. They reached out to the group Feed Our Rural Kids or “FORK”, which agreed to help with the distribution.
Those who want one of the 30 pound boxes of food should enter the St. Germain Community Center parking lot off Highway 155. Stay in the vehicle and open the trunk, and they’ll load the box for you. The food distribution will be in the front of the pavilion.
The United States Department of Agriculture partners with farmers, ranchers and food processors to provide the boxes.
