Starjournalnow.com

Oneida County Economic Development  Corporation Director Stacey Johnson will be changing positions soon to take a similar job description with the state.

Johnson spoke to the Rhinelander common council meeting Monday...

"My position as Economic Development Director will be changing in the coming weeks. I still we be doing economic development, however I will be doing it from the capacity of regional executive director of the WEDC. My area will be the central Wisconsin area, however I will stay on any of the projects we've discussed here in city council...."

Johnson says those projects include the ABX expansion, and Nicolet College's Small Business and Entrepreneurship program. Johnson says she will be at her current job until January 20.

Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation divides the state into 10 regions. The region Johnson will lead includes Lincoln, Marathon, Portage, Wood and Clark counties.

Johnson was hired in April, 2018 to succeed Roger Luce as Oneida County Economic Development director.
