Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks won't be running for re-election in 2022.
He made the announcement on his Facebook page Tuesday.
Sheriff Parks said he remains humbled by the support received from this community and those he serves.
He called it a privilege to be sheriff.
“It’s going to be a huge change, because this has been my career since 1976 on, either through the United States Army with the Military Police, or here at the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office”, said Parks.
Parks added that he is making the decision now because the primary is in August 2022 and did not want anyone curious about his intent or why he isn't campaigning.
