Price County Reports First Death, Wisconsin Breaks Record of Daily COVID-19 Cases Again

Price County is reporting its first death due to COVID-19. The Price County Health Department said the person was an elderly resident.

“We are saddened by the loss of one our community members,” said Michelle Edwards, Health Officer. “We extend our sympathies to their loved ones and all impacted.”

State COVID -19 Update

The latest death comes as Wisconsin breaks its record of daily COVID-19 cases for the third time this week.

The Department of Health Services is reporting 3,861 new COVID-19 cases Friday.

That pushes the 7-day average to 3,052. It’s the first time the 7-day average has topped 3,000.

Another 21 people have died from the virus in Wisconsin.

Northwoods COVID-19 Update

The following is a break down of total COVID-19 cases in a county in our region. These are numbers from the DHS.

Oneida County is up to 877 cases. Six people have died.

Vilas County has 397 with three deaths.

Iron County, Wisconsin has 159 case and one death.

Forest County has 392 cases. 10 people have died.

Langlade County is up to 624 COVID-19 cases.  Five people have died.

Lincoln County is at 506 cases and five deaths.

Price County has 272 COVID-19 cases and one death. 

Marathon County is up to 3,165 COVID-19 cases. 32 people have died.

In the north central part of the state, 120 people are currently hospitalized because of the virus. 25 of those people are in the ICU.
