Oneida County has confirmed its first positive case of COVID-19.
Oneida County Health Director Linda Conlon confirmed the positive test...
"So we have our first case and the person is being very compliant with isolation. We are in the midst of doing contact investigation at this time."
The person is in their 20s with a history of travel. Conlon says health officials had been expecting cases to occur....
"We have known that we have had cases before this, just our first confirmed case. We recommend that everybody follow the Safer-At-Home order from the Governor. That means you should only be going out when you need to...the grocery store or a doctor's appointment or prescription medications...."
She says they're encouraging people to exercise outside while observing the social distancing guidelines, and also asking people to monitor their own symptoms like fever, shortness of breath or cough. Conlon says if you are ill, call your health care provider and discuss it with them. She says with the community spread of COVID-19 throughout the state of Wisconsin, it is important that everyone takes this seriously.

Oneida County has confirmed its first positive case of COVID-19.
On Friday morning, the Oneida County Health Department confirmed the person is in their 20s with a history of travel.
The person is in isolation and “has been very compliant,” according to a release.
Health officials are working to determine how the person became infected. The county is contacting people with whom the patient had close contact.
Linda Conlon, the Oneida County Health Department Director/Health Officer is asking community members to follow Gov. Evers’ Safer At Home order and stay at home as much as possible.
“With community spread of COVID-19 throughout the state of Wisconsin, it is very important that everyone takes this seriously,” Conlon said.
