  • I’ve been a public radio station listener throughout my life (shoutout to WGUC, WFIU, WBEZ, and KUWR to name just a few). I’ve always associated public radio stations with big cities and university towns, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Rhinelander had its very own station when we moved to northern Wisconsin in 2012. I highly value WXPR as a news source and appreciate the station's eclectic programming. As a new board member I am excited to invest my time in support of WXPR's community-driven mission.
  • Hi there, Jon Simonsen here, new board member. It’s hard to pick my favorite part of WXPR. Many days it’s morning coffee paired with news and local events. Then again, it’s hard to beat backyard campfires paired with great music. There’s more on my list of favorites too with the impressive amount of content developed by the staff and volunteers. I've grown to appreciate that WXPR is a rare commodity in this age of marketing algorithms and click-bait headlines. I’m excited to dive into this role to learn and to support the station’s mission.
