Rhinelander Salvation Army Exceeds Fundraising Goal

Salvation Army

It was a good season for Salvation Army bell ringers this most recent holiday.

The Rhinelander Area Salvation Army drive exceeded it's $40,000 goal.

Kettle Coordinator Kim Swisher thanked all who helped...

"..We are overwhelmed with gratitude with the amount of people who rang bells this year and the amount of people who stepped up. We had so many groups, organizations and churches that stepped up and rang the bells this year. Thanks to everyone's efforts, we raised $49, 130. We've never exceeded our goal by that much. Last year we didn't even make our goal. This is incredibly overwhelming. We are so appreciative of everyone's efforts, kindness and generosity."

Swisher thanked Shopko, Trig's and Walmart for allowing them to ring at those stores. She also thanked Ripco Credit Union for managing all of the donations.

Also including in the thanks was Headwaters, the School District of Rhinelander, the Rhinelander Chamber and Chamber Ambassadors, and the many families and groups of friends who volunteered for shifts.

Swisher also noted the contributions of Rhinelander Toyota and the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, who not only donated, but rang bells and offered matching funds opportunities.
