Northwoods Heritage Festival Friday and Saturday

Town of Three Lakes

Looking at the various nationalities and groups who make up Wisconsin is the focus of the the third annual " Northwoods Heritage Fest"  Friday and Saturday in Three Lakes.

Three Lakes Chamber Director Skip Brunswick....

".....bascially what it's about is celebrating the various heritage's here in the Northwoods. We started to do that with German, Polish, Irish , Italian and Wisconsin, U.S.A...."

Brunswick says the event is a good opportunity to explore one's heritage at a family event...

".....it's a great event to have family fun. They can learn about their heritage. The geneological society will be here. We're going into our third year. Last year we pulled a little over 6,500 people in a two day period...."

 Music includes the Jim Pekol Bavarian Band, Jay Gates, doing the music of Rod Stewart, Bret and Frisk, the Kinsella Irish Dancers, a lumberjack show and many other events. Four cultural pavilions featuring great traditional foods, history, products and dress of the countries with cultural exhibitions, arts and crafts and kids activities.

The event received state Department of Tourism backing with a Joint Effort Marketing grant.
