George Rouman is throwing an Oscar party right here in the Northwoods Sunday night and you're invited. Black tie optional. Plus it also is a fundraiser for ArtStart.

Rouman owns Rouman Cinema in Rhinelander. Sunday night is the 91st presentation of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards. He says he always wanted to have this type of event...

"...The Oscars night is the most glamorous night of the year in Hollywood. For us being a movie theater it makes all the sense in the world to celebrate. I've wanted to do this for a really long time at the theater, but for various reasons we've been unable to. This year everything is coming together. We're closing the building down and having a private event..."

Rouman says the Oscars will be on the theater's 40' screens. They're hosting a cocktail party which is part of the event. But the event will also raise money for the local arts community...

"It's two events in one. The first part is we're having a cocktail party and a fundraising event for ArtStart between 5:30 and 7:00(p.m.) The Oscars broadcast starts at 7:00, so at 7:00 we'll be in the auditoriums to actually watch it..."

CT's Deli will cater the event. Rouman says dress is 'black tie optional'. He says if you have the clothes wear them. There's even going to be a red carpet complete with a photographer. A photo on the red carpet with a replica Oscar will have the proceeds from that go to ArtStart. There will also be a silent auction or raffles, including framed autographed movie posters and such.

Rouman says if you love movies and are looking for a night out, he would love to see you there. More information on the event is at roumancinema.com
