A crew Wednesday began the process of picking up the Wilderness Queen boat for transport to Delavan, Wisconsin, it's new home.
The boat for many years was run on the Wilderness Flowage and later the Wisconsin River at Rhinelander.
The cruise boat was purchased last fall, and parked at the Pelican Rapids boat landing on Rhinelander's south side.
It was found to be much heavier than earlier believed so its move was stalled until a specially-modified flat bed truck could haul it to Delavan.
