ERRA Gets Kraft Grant To Help Update Eagle River Dome

ERRA

People working to renovate the Eagle River Dome received a major boost last night.

Kraft Heinz presented a $30,000 dollar check to the Eagle River Recreation Association as they work to upgrade the facility known for it's ice hockey.

Spokesperson Natalie Spiess says back in February arenas from across the nation competed for grant money. Spiess says the Eagle River story was entered along with stories from supporters about the Dome....

"After that was done, we were chosen as one of the top arenas. We had a 24-hour period where we went online and voted over and over again for Eagle River's arena to win the competition but we came in second...."

Spiess says the repairs at the Dome are already underway. They're taking the floor out so new pipes can be put in and a new floor.

The total amount needed to complete renovations is about $1.5 million that would also replace the ice plant.
