Northwoods United Way Grants Local Social Service Agencies

Northwoods United Way

Northwoods organizations helping out during the COVID-19 outbreak have received funding through the Northwoods United Way. The agency has distributed community donations from its recently established COVID-19 Fund.

Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing (NATH) in Rhinelander, Feed Our Rural Kids (FORK ) in Eagle River, and Headwaters Food Pantry in Land ’O Lakes were the recent recipients of funding.

Northwoods United Way Director Nancy Sattler says NATH needs cleaning supplies and meals, FORK is helping to feed kids when school is off and Headwaters Food Pantry finds donations have decreased and the money will help stock shelves. Sattler says she's pleased with the response...

"We have seen some people donate through our website as well as sending checks, so it's great. The thing people need to understand is the money going into this COVID-19 Communty Resource Fund, 100 percent is going back to Human Service Agencies in our area...."

She says their goal is to give out grants each week. Sattler says the needs are likely to keep changing but they wish to fund agencies who need the funds due to COVID-19.

If you would like to donate to the fund, you can send a check to the office at P.O. Box 177 Rhinelander, 54501,  drop off a check at the Nicolet National Banks in the area. or go on their website at northwoodsunitedway.org
