Art Fair On The Courthouse Lawn Postponed To September

travelwisconsin.com

Another Northwoods tradition has a new event date due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn is postponed from its June date to September 12.

The Fair has brought artists and many styles of work to the historic courthouse in downtown Rhinelander.

Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce Director Lauren Sackett says they decided the uncertainty heading into June led to the postponement...

"While the Safer At Home order is dated through May 26, we know it will take several weeks if not a month or two to completely bounce back. We didn't know what the policies would be concerning gatherings, so we're going to postpone until September 12..."

The Art Fair attracts a couple thousand attendees and features over 75 regional artists and crafters, a performance by the Rhinelander Area Community Band and food vendors. Sackett says a car show and downtown event also have been canceled for June. She didn't know if those events would move to September or not.

She says they want to have the same show in September, though they may have a smaller event and a few less vendors. Sackett says it is good to support the artists and crafters who are at the core of the event.
