Trees of Love

For the 34th year, Compassus (formerly known as Ascension at Home) will light Trees of Love to acknowledge the pain of loss many feel during the holidays. Ceremonies will be held at Compassus in Arbor Vitae on Tuesday, Dec. 7, and in Rhinelander on Thursday, Dec. 9. Members of the public are invited to attend. “Grief can feel especially profound during the holidays, regardless of when loss happened,” said Compassus Hospice Care Consultant Janette Marien. “Our Trees of Love serve as an acknowledgement of the memories left by those who have passed and a reminder that support is near.” All attendees will receive ornaments to take home and include in their own holiday celebrations. Trees of Love will remain lit throughout the holiday season. This is the first year the ceremonies will be held at Compassus offices in Arbor Vitae and Rhinelander. No registration is required. Ceremonies will be held outside with light refreshments. Face masks are recommended. The Minocqua Rotary Club and JJ’s Acres donated the Tree of Love to be displayed at the Arbor Vitae office, and Forth Floral donated the Rhinelander office Tree of Love.
