More Searches Likely in Lac du Flambeau

Lac du Flambeau Chamber of Commerce

The Lac du Flambeau Chief of Police says more arrests are coming. Last week, "Operation Pandora" was launched by several law enforcement agencies on the reservation to stem the tide of synthetic and pharmaceutical drugs being sold.

Dozens of people were arrested as warrants were served.

Police Chief Bob Brandenburg says they achieved some objectives, but not others...

".....with this operation we decided we were going to target the prescription drugs and the cannabanoids. Also we were trying to target any of the heroin dealers. Unfortunately we weren't able to, well, maybe fortunately we were not able to buy any heroin in the area...."

Brandenburg says more work will be done...

".....this is just the first wave. In fact, we didn't pick up all our targets we had set for that day..."

40 law enforcement officers from 11 agencies were involved in the raids last Wednesday.

We'll have more on Operation Pandora at 7:35 Monday morning.
