Decision Postponed On Controversial CBRF

No decision on a controversial Community Based Residential Facility on West Phillip Street in Rhinelander.

Attic Correctional Services applied for a conditional use permit to place the home on the city's west side. More than 70 neighbors objected to placing the facility near their residences at an April 2 public hearing. The Planning Commission that night voted to reject authorizing the permit. The Rhinelander city council was set for a final vote on the matter last night. But City Attorney Carrie Miljevich asked to delay the vote, saying she had received some mail from a law firm for Attic Correctional Services about the issue...

"....I'm going to recommend to table the issue for tonight until further investigation can be looked at in this matter...."

Miljevich didn't say what the issues were, but the council agreed to delay the vote until the May meeting.
