LUHS Total Levy Dips, But Tax Rate Unchanged

biz.liga.net

The total property tax levy to operate the Lakeland Union High School (LUHS) for another year has dropped $11,600 from the levy conditionally approved at the Sept. 28 annual meeting. However, it will have virtually no effect on the mil rate the district uses to calculate your property tax bill.

The school board Monday approved Director of Business Services Greg Kopp’s recommendation to levy nearly $11 million to help support the budget of $17 million. The district’s equalized valuation dropped less than one tenth of one percent (0.07 percent) from the previous year. Kopp said the district’s tax rate would remain at $1.92 per $1,000 valuation. That’s a drop of 6 cents from last year’s rate..

If you own property valued at $100,000, the LUHS tax bill will be $192. In the LUHS District, property tax bills also include levies for elementary schools, Nicolet College, town and county operations.
