Historic Nomination Highlights Democratic Convention

Last week was the Republican's turn, now the political stage shifts to Philadelphia and the Democrats. After a sometimes bitter race between eventual winner Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders, the party meets to formally nominate the former Secretary of State and her running mate Tim Kaine as the party's standard-bearers.

One of the state's leading Democrats, State Senator Jon Erpenbach of Middleton thinks the party will seize on an historic nomination of a woman and have strength going into the fall...

"....to have a woman at the top of the ticket of a major party heading into the November election is a big step forward for the Democrats and the country as a whole but Senator Sanders endorsing Hilary Clinton and uniting the party under one giant tent is a good thing...."

Erpenbach says voters will have a clear choice in November...

".....we're looking at two very different people here at the top of the ticket running for POTUS, one that has a resume that is impeccable and full of experience and rational sound judgement versus someone who, it sounded like a joke in the beginning, but he's done more damage just running for office, I can't imagine if he were actually President...."

Erpenbach says to have a woman at the top of the ticket of a major party heading into the November election is a big step forward for the Democrats and the country as a whole but Senator Sanders endorsing Hilary Clinton and uniting the party under one giant tent is a positive he says.
