Plans Begin For Emergency Responder Communications Network

Last Friday, Governor Walker announced his decision to accept the First Responder Network Authority and AT&T plan to deliver a wireless broadband network to the state’s public safety community.

Authorized by Congress in 2012, FirstNet's mission is to build and operate the nationwide, broadband network that equips first responders.

Retired Oneida County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy John Sweeney has been on the Department of Commerce's national advisory committee about the network.
