Proposal Presented To St. Germain Board For White Tail Inn

Town of St. Germain

The St. Germain town board, meeting last week to hear conceptual designs of the Red Brick School House, received a proposal to purchase the Whitetail Inn for use as a communty center.

Addressing the town board under public comments, Eagle River realator Gerry Burkett presented the proposal, passing out a signed offer.

“I would like town to consider purchase of Whitetail Inn,” Burkett said. “It's 12,000 square feet with a 5,000 square foot basement. It is adjacent and symbiotic to the golf course. What I'm handing you is a signed offer to sell by the Jeffrey and Joy Sievert Family Trust for $1.5 million.”

Burkett indicated the Trust is planning to sell the Inn in the next couple of years and this offer needs to be accecpted by the middle of March. He indicated building such a unique log structure at today's prices it's worth $250 per square foot or $3 million. “If accecpted, the transaction could be finalized and closed in January, 2020,” Burkett said.

The board may include discussion on the offer at their next town board meeting.
