MINOCQUA – Robert W. Way has signed a contract to become the next district administrator at Lakeland Union High School. Way, who is currently the district’s interim administrator, will replace Jim Bouché who is retiring July 1.

The school board in a unanimous vote March 25 offered Way the position, which will have combined duties. He will draw an annual salary of $138,738 for the first year’s contract, plus district contributions toward health insurance and other benefits.

Board president Ed Schaub said Way will spend 40 percent of his time as district administrator and the remaining time as curriculum director. The contract is for two years with an annual option to exit the contract by either party. It covers the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years. “We are very happy to have him on board,” said Schaub by telephone Wednesday. “The administration team believes it will work out wonderful.”

Way is in his fifth year as director of curriculum and instruction/pupil services at Lakeland. He was named interim district administrator when Bouché took a leave of absence earlier this year. Bouché is being paid $95,000 this year as part-time (60%) administrator.

Way holds licensure for superintendent/district administrator K-12, director of instruction K-12, principal K-12 and director of pupil services K-12.
